Tsuyoshi Taira, Chairman, Board of Directors

Tsuyoshi Taira is the CEO of Tazan International Inc., a Venture Capital and Management Consultancy Firm. Mr. Taira has been involved with a number of Silicon Valley startup companies as founding investor/director including Atmel Semiconductor (NASDAQ: ATML), Pico Power Technology Inc.(acquired by Cirrus Logic), Junglee Corporation (acquired by, Armedia (acquired by Broadcom), Apptivity (acquired by Progress Software, and many others. He has been instrumental in providing seed stage financing, management and marketing advice, especially for the Far Eastern market.

Currently he serves on the boards of Silicon Storage Technology Inc. (flash memory company), Mino Wireless (mobile wireless), Xcidia Inc. (gift e-commerce), HCD corporation(IC connectors), and Keizai Society. In addition, he is on the advisory board of Reveo (Revolutionary Electro Optics Technology Company) and several other companies. Previously, Mr. Taira was Chairman of Sanyo Semiconductor directing Sanyo’s US marketing strategy. Most of his career was spent at Sanyo Corporation except for five years when he worked at Fairchild Semiconductor.

Mr. Taira graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan University with a BSEE. He also received an Honorary Doctor of Humanities from Newport Asia Pacific University in March 2000. He has published a number of books including Audio Amplifier, Transistor Physics and Application as a Co-author and most recently a book on entrepreneurship, titled "My Fellow Engineer, Let’s Challenge", from Nikkei BP.

Robert B. Matson, Board of Directors and Senior Vice President of Strategy

Bob has specialized in strategic investment management with over 40 years of advising public and private companies. His extensive experience includes roles as President of Financial Management Group and as Partner of Harvard Management Company which manages the Harvard Endowment. Bob is a former management consultant with Arthur D. Little and held executive and management positions in consulting and managing at The Boston Company and Whitman and Co. He served as an engineer Hewlett-Packard in the Research and Development and Manufacturing. Bob received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering from MIT and an MSA degree in accounting and finance from Bentley University. He has been a member of the World Affairs Council.

Clayton Besch III, Board of Directors and Director of Business Development

Raised in the Capital Region, Clayton did his undergraduate at Hamilton College in Central NY. After years of advance education in Asia, earning a Masters at Nagasaki University and a PhD at Tokyo University, Clayton's focus turned to finance and investment. Experiencing the growth and evolution in Japan's bubble market and later in the Emerging markets he crossed from equity research to sales to the global investment community. He then moved to the Venture Capital world working with SOFTBANK's worldwide VC network for a number of years. After consulting for funds in the US, Japan and the UK, Clayton most recently ran the Asian office for NYS’s ESDC in Tokyo introducing NYS companies to sales opportunities in Japan and Korea and introducing Japanese companies to strategic opportunities in NYS. Clayton is currently the Director of Business Development for NYSTAR, New York State’s Foundation for Science, Technology and Innovation as well as the Managing Director of it’s Small Business Technology Investment Fund.

Tom Reilly, Director

Tom Reilly is the CEO and Managing Partner at Fernwood Investment Management, LLC., an SEC-registered independent investment management firm. Tom has 38 years of experience in investment management and financial services. Mr. Reilly founded Fernwood Investment Management in 2003 and is responsible for portfolio management and the strategic direction of the firm's operations and investments. Before establishing Fernwood, he held positions at Bainco International Investors and spent 22 years at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Reilly holds a Series 65 license for investment advisement and an insurance license. He has served on the Boston College Investment Advisory Council and as a member of the Regis College Board of Trustees. Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Boston College. He is also a Board Member of The Melanoma Foundation of New England and Connected Living, Inc.

David Fisher, Board Observer and Senior Vice President for Corporate and Legal

David Abbott Fisher spent a career in corporate law, investment banking and investment management. He has co-founded a number of small businesses operating in diverse fields. In addition, he has co-founded two charities - one, in Boston, catering to the needs of the homeless and one in Brazil, involved in providing daycare and educational facilities to 150 children from a favela in Foz de Iguacu.

Dr. Scott Li, Advisor

An expert in process engineering, Dr. Scott Li is a dynamic, innovative, and effective technology leader who is passionate about converting ideas to commercial products. He possesses a solid foundation of first-hand engineering team management, product development, analysis, problem solving, and scientific expertise. He used his extensive research background in physics and materials, to successfully design a series of world-class products for Panametrics, where he was the Head of R&D. Dr. Li continued to productively leverage his background with GE, AgaMatrix and IL. His management activities at GE Sensing were recognized as a Best Practice.

Dr. Li earned a PhD in Physics from Brandeis University, Waltham, MA and is a Post-Doctoral Associate in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, Cambridge, MA. He is a Six Sigma Green Belt and holds several professional certificates including Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Project Management. He is also the holder of four patents.

Michele deNevers, Advisor

Michele is a Senior Program Associate at the Center for Global Development in Washington, DC. Most recently she was a Visiting Fellow at the Global Economic Governance Programme at University College, Oxford. She worked for 29 years in the World Bank with her last position as Senior Manager of the Environment Department where she led the preparation of the WB's new corporate Environment Strategy. She managed a team of staff that was responsible for the World Bank's work on climate change, environmental economics, biodiversity, pollution management and other environmental issues. She led the global consultations for the World Bank's "Strategic Framework for Development and Climate Change" that was approved by the World Bank Executive Board in October 2008. She was closely associated with the establishment of the Climate Investment Funds, the $6.8 billion in funding for investment in mitigation, adaptation and forestry in developing countries.

Michele holds degrees from MIT and the University of California,Berkeley.

She has served on several boards and advisor committees including Expert Network on Development Effectiveness, Wolfensohn Center, Brookings Institution Washington, and International Poverty Reduction Center, China. Michele speaks several languages in addition to English- Spanish, Serbo-Croatian, and Cebuano.

DeAnne Dupont, Advisor

DeAnne is currently on the Board of Directors of DWS Trust Company, a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of Deutsche Bank AG, where she is Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Investment Committee. DeAnne led the financial reporting, treasury, and compensation groups as a Managing Director of Babson Capital Management LLC with over $100 billion in assets under management. Ms. Dupont is the former Treasurer of the MassMutual Premier Fund Group.

DeAnne is active in community affairs where she gives her time and talent to the Minuteman Parent Association, is on the executive and audit committees of the Massachusetts Climate Action Network and is a steering committee member of Sustainable Arlington.

DeAnne is a Certified Public Accountant and earned her Master’s of Science in Taxation at Bentley University and a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She has completed executive level leadership training at Simmons College.

Monica Nascimento, Consultant

Monica brings a wealth of experience and talents to GXT Green. She is an attorney, international law and business liaison, business executive, investor and philanthropist focusing on international trade, commerce and investment businesses on the private sector—especially those related to Brazil.

Ms. Nascimento is also an experienced senior business executive, and was the president of Computel, a telecommunications provider in Sao Paulo from 1990-95. When at Computel, she struck a joint venture agreement with Boston Technology Inc., which was the pioneer of voice recognition and voice message system in Brazil, wining 70 % of that market share.

Monica serves on several boards and is involved in a number of civic and community projects. She is the past president of the Brazilian Total Assistant, providing Pro Bono legal services including those related to health care availability and domestic violence. She is a supporter of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Boston Public Library and other charities.

Ms. Nascimento has a JD from Santa Ursula University and was admitted to the Rio de Janeiro Bar in 1985 and the Sao Paulo Bar in 1986. She has continued her studies in the United States at Harvard and Suffolk Law Schools.
